“The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again,
      and expecting different results!
      ” Albert Einstein

Suffering from acute, severe or chronic back pain and tried various avenues to no avail? ... Tired of taking medication? ... Spent lots of money in vein? ... Medical aid funds exhausted? ... At wits end, resigning to a life of constant pain and suffering? ... Dread the idea of surgery but SO desperate it's now under consideration, perhaps the only option?

NOT SO ...! Relax, take a deep breath: this may be a solution ...

The back provides vital support for our physical, mental and emotional comfort and all aspects are essential for our health and well being. If continuous pain and suffering is experienced we're unlikely to be happy or good company.

All pain, illness or disease should be recognised as a 'wake up call' but should also be seen as a 'gift'. Pain is the body’s way of communicating imbalance or disruptions, implying a physical or psychological limit has been reached. The gift pain, illness and disease provides is that it is demanding our attention revealing an urgent need to restore equilibrium.

Using powerful body centred techniques such as Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) or 'tapping' facilitates the body to naturally and spontaneously release these disruptions. And as the name, Emotional Freedom Techniques implies, freedom is gained ... freedom from discomfort, pain and suffering be it physical, emotional or mental. Working together with a facilitator such as myself, should be seen as a co-operative journey to self discovery; where your real magnificence lies.

I look forward to being of assistance releasing you of unpleasant ache or pains.

Health, joy and peace are your birthright!

I wish to know more ... please read further to gain more understanding.

The physical body is a complete expression of all our conscious and subconscious thoughts, emotions and beliefs. Belief that illness and life’s accidents are relevant only to the physical self indicates a dissociation from one's mental, emotional and spiritual aspects - a refusal to acknowledge the majority of what makes us who we really are. In a nutshell, we should view ourselves holistically.

Think of any anxious situation, either real or imagined, almost instantly the body is triggered and the heart races, a knot forms in the pit of the stomach, the mouth may dry out or the palms sweat etc. This anxious thought also elicits an emotional response too, and the emotional response spurs more thoughts: a vicious cycle begins. These automatic responses were as a result of just one anxious thought: real or imagined. Often, if not daily, the body is continually being bombarded with disruptive responses and experiences which can result in long term illness, and pain thus becomes inevitable.

The most frequent causes of illness are disruptive negative attitudes, thoughts and emotions. Yes, stress is a huge contributor but so are anger, guilt, shame, rejection, abandonment, anxiety, unresolved or deep seated hurts, bitterness, lack of forgiveness etc. These may be as a result of recent or past (at times repetitive) experiences, events, memories, beliefs, trauma, failures etc. For simplicity sake, let us refer to these as core issues.

“Much of your pain is the bitter potion by which the physician within you
    heals your sick self.
    ” Kahlil Gibran

Most people do not realise, or believe, their emotions, thoughts and beliefs affect the physical body. For example, a belief in having ‘a cold every winter’ is nothing more than an expectation that is manifested as a result of firmly held beliefs. Or, negative belief or self talk such as ‘I am overweight’ exacerbates weight conditions. Our beliefs are powerful!

At times, continued pill popping may do more harm than good, resulting in a chemical imbalance or other health issues down the line. Conventional treatment of physical pain is largely an attempt to suppress symptoms, and often results in chasing pains around the body. Consider that perhaps evasive pain relief as the body's desperate and relentless cry for attention to real 'pains' or core issues (emotional or mental) which are buried and ignored.

“Criticism may not be agreeable, but it is necessary. It fulfils the same function as pain in the human body. It calls attention to an unhealthy state of things.” Winston Churchill

At first this may not make much sense but upon enquiry into various aspects of one’s life clues become apparent i.e. at work, in relationships, financial situations, traumas, responsibilities, childhood, beliefs etc. With this fresh perspective, do any of these now seem applicable or appropriate?

  • Suffering silently … no-one is listening to me (either now or in childhood)
  • Feeling unappreciated, abandoned or rejected
  • Feeling unsupported … alone … no-one cares or understands, or even wants to
  • Feeling like a victim … ‘why me?’
  • Efforts to be happy are usually sabotaged by unexpected events or ‘accidents’
  • Feeling continually burdened, challenged and needing to ‘make the best of it’
  • Drained of vitality and zest for self or life in general
  • Burdened by carrying a ‘heavy weight’ or responsibility as if the world is on your shoulders
  • Suffering and having to ‘bear up’ under this strain

Releasing forgotten or buried painful core issues is our gift to ourselves. Being attentive and nurturing Self is a reminder to love and accept one’s self and our many facets including limiting beliefs, fears, weaknesses, failures, dreams and desires etc.

Understandably the concept of self love may seem uncomfortable or even impossible: this is quite normal. However as we uncover disruptive core issues and release them this comes naturally. Resolution spontaneously initiates forgiveness, humility and gratitude. Automatically it feels appropriate to love and accept ourselves, and who we are.

Utilising a powerful body stress release technique such as Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) or 'tapping' facilitates this process naturally because 'tapping' is innate in our body's healing system. We 'tap' everyday without even realising it.

Facilitators such as myself see things objectively and unemotionally so can assist with letting go of stressful or uncomfortable core issues, encouraging restoration and wellness, and accelerating the body’s natural healing process. The choice is yours, either remain a victim to the pain or take appropriate empowering action.

“All that we are is the result of what we have thought. If a man speaks or acts with an evil thought, pain follows him. If a man speaks or acts with a pure thought, happiness follows him, like a shadow that never leaves him. ” Buddha
